Young Chris, traveling in motion, it catapulted into the mysterious world of medieval fantasy-Byston Well, in the midst of a bloody slave revolt against the tribe of Metomeus the dictatorial reign of Ashigaba. It 'amazing how in life there are never certainties. Take Tomino, creator of Gundam , Ideon and Dunbine and between brackets one of the largest and most successful animated film of all time. Who would have thought that the great man would come one day to write and direct this colossal crap by the name of Garzey 's Wing? Everything starts from the cycle of novels Byston Well written by himself, which have been inspired in 'the immortal '83 television series Aura Battler Dunbine and in' the least memorable '88 The Tale of Neo Byston Well . Both interpretations were mecha narrative arc The Wings of Rean , which in the saga of Byston Well counts 6 volumes. Garzey 's Wing is located next saga in the homonymous but instead consists of 5 volumi, ma non aspettatevi un sequel o uno spin-off di Aura Battler Dunbine perchè Tomino, finalmente libero dalle pressioni degli sponsor, evita di inserire mecha e robot (come invece fece su Dunbine per colpa delle insistenze di Clover e Bandai), e segue invece fedelmente i romanzi originari perdendo così ogni genere di continuity con le produzioni precedenti. Peccato che, anche a dispetto della maggior creatività, il celebre regista consegna ai posteri un memorabile obbrobrio che verrà così così giustamente stroncato in tutti i paesi del mondo in cui uscirà, arrivando a divenire pure un cult ed una pietra miliare delle pessime produzioni in quanto a buone idee ma mediocre realizzazione. Il terribile difetto di Garzey's Wing è la noia: nei tre lunghi episodi che lo compongono (per un totale di un'ora e mezza di durata) non si capisce mai a che razza di storia si sta assistendo. Non soltanto ogni avvenimento viene diretto in modo veloce e sbrigativo rendendo terribilmente confusionaria la storia, ma i dialoghi sono di una bruttezza disarmante. E' incredibile infatti come la caratterizzazione dei personaggi si regge unicamente su velocissimi scambi di battute, che rendono tutto il cast vuoto e immediatamente dimenticabile. Il resto dei dialoghi, poi, sono poi puro nosense: da un lato Tomino non rinuncia alla trovata di far delirare i personaggi per permettere un processo di identificazione pirandelliana in loro (artefizio che verrà estremizzato two years later in Brain Powerd), and the other begins to do damage as well the DVD edition of Central Park, the only Western version of the soul, which suffers from poor translations.
